The barn and the pasture are among the most-popular attractions at Mountain Meadows Lodge, but you generally don't have to go out to the barn to visit with the animals, most of them roam freely around the property during the day. They are all gentle and "kid-friendly"; some are curious and don't mind being petted.
Alice, the Mountain Meadows Lodge mascot, is a Vietnamese pot-bellied pig. She can be seen any time of day roaming around Mountain Meadows doing what pigs do!
The latest addition is Charlie a new baby pygmy goat. He's playful and friendly and very curious. He loves to be let out of his pen to roam around and nibble on everything. You can take him for a walk, of course, but be prepared, he's very easily distracted. One of his favorite places is the gardens at the pool, so if you plan to spend some time at the pool take Charlie.
There's Alex, the Shetland pony, Molly the goat and her "herd" of six sheep. Can you guess which one is Oreo? You'll find Herman the peacock and his mate, ducks (including June, aka "The Beast"), and a few chickens.
Occasionally a moose or two will stop by -- the pictures here were taken in June and October of 2006 on the Lodge property.
Inside the lodge you'll find some reptile exhibits featuring some turtles and a lizard.
