More History

In August of 2009, the Adams Family, decendants of the original owners of the property, held their annual family reunion at Mountain Meadows Lodge.

Gloria Senecal Polcaro

I was born in the house March 29, 1932 (also known at that time as the Combination Farm). There was a winter blizzard at that time, and the doctor, Albert M Cram, drive his horse and buggy to the farm from Bridgewater, Vermont to the farm house and delivered me at the farm house. My birth name was Gloria Jean Senecal. My Aunt Florence Evelyn Towne lived there at the time. Assisting in the birth was Mrs. Blanche Towne and an Aunt Gertie who I believe was sister to Mr. Andrew Towne, also my maternal grandmother Margaret Taylor Senecal from Mt. Holly, Vt

I visited the property again summer of 1944 to swim in the Combination Farm. Somehow I got into the nettles and developed a sever reaction that made me itch all over. That was temporary as Clara Prior rubbed me down with yellow FelsNaptha soap and that took care of the itching.

On Sept 18, 2010 my Grandson James A Polcaro II and Kate McCann were married at this Farm now known as Mountain Meadows Lodge It was a beautiful wedding and I was able to attend. I think they will have a long and happy marriage as I have lived for 78+ years after having been born there. They did not know I was born there when they chose this place to wed.
